St. Patrick’s Day Fare

From corned beef and cabbage to rainbow brownies and green wine -- here are ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Middleton!

Irish fare and festivity is here! Middleton offers a little luck o’ the Irish for all!

Whether looking to start your day with a cup of Irish coffee and festive baked goods, enjoying a full plate of Irish fare, or raising a glass of Guinness beer, there are several places in Middleton offering Irish fare and specials for the green at heart.

Start your day with something green and caffeinated — Barriques downtown sells a Green Monkey Smoothie and Irish coffee. It’s the perfect way to combine holiday fun with your daily morning ritual. Stop in-person later in the day and make the Irish coffee alcohol infused with Kahlua, Irish whiskey and sugar.

Tanner’s Bar & Grill is kicking off the day’s celebration early with a special breakfast menu and 25 cent pints of Coors Light served from 9 – 11 a.m.

If looking for lunch or dinner with an Irish flare, the Free House Pub is offering a special of corned beef and cabbage all day (while supplies last) as well as Irish themed drinks.

Speaking of corned beef and cabbage, Hubbard Avenue Diner is also offering the Irish dish Thursday, March 16 – Friday, March 17 for lunch and dinner — which also comes with a potatoes and slice of homemade soda bread. Pro tip — Hubbard Avenue Diner serves chocolate mint malts and shakes year-round!

Sofra Family Bistro is open until 2 p.m. and serving up corned beef and cabbage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 17. Dine in, or order carryout.

And don’t forget Craftsman Table & Tap! This popular restaurant and bar will be celebrating both Thursday and Friday with corned beef and cabbage, Rueben sandwiches and a special on Guinness beer, Irish Ale and Irish Whiskies.

The Nitty Gritty will also be celebrating this St Patrick’s Day with traditional Irish fare and themed drinks — Reuben sandwiches, corned beef and cabbage as well as green beer, $6 Guinness pints and $4 Tullamore Drew Irish Whiskey shots.

Monk’s Bar & Grill also has the holiday spirit(s) today with corned beef and cabbage all day!

St. Patrick’s Day is a day for anyone and everyone to get into the Irish spirit, even Taigu Chinese Restaurant! Upon serving their famous homemade noodles and authentic Chinese dishes, Taigu will offer free vegetable rolls and sesame balls with every order during the restaurants happy hour, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Clasen’s European Bakery is selling St. Patrick’s Day cookies and treats, as well as Claddagh marble rye, caraway bread, Irish soda through March 17 — pick up your own from this family-owned bakery. Claddagh Marble Rye is dark and light rye dough rolled together and topped with caraway seeds and semolina. Caraway Bread is a classic chewy sourdough rye bread with plenty of aromatic caraway seeds. Both perfect for a corned beef sandwich. Irish Soda Bread is that traditional Irish bread leavened with baking soda and buttermilk instead of yeast and studded with delicious golden raisins.

Sun, rain or shine, ice cream is always a good decision — especially when it’s themed for the season. Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream is now offering an Emerald Isle Shake. This is a delectable mint avalanche shake topped with Andes Candies, edible gold stars and whipped cream. What leprechaun (young or old) could say no to that!

Swing by The National Mustard Museum for some tasty “Mustards of Ireland.” They have a display in the gift shop and now through March 17, Irish mustards are BOGO 50 percent off. Would make a welcome hostess gift or souvenir after visiting the free museum.

Impress your St. Patrick Day guests by learning how to make an Instagram-ready St. Patrick’s Day charcuterie board. On Thursday, March 16, Madison Cheese Boards will host a St. Patrick’s Day Charcuterie Workshop at Hidden Cave Cidery. Participants must have a pre-purchased ticket, order here.

Relax after work at Grape Water Wine Bar which is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a pop-up collaboration with Miggy’s Bakes, Thistle + Elm, Willow & Weld — 5-8 p.m., March 17, while supplies last.
